|500g lean minced meat (beef, lamb, veal, pork, chicken, kangaroo or a combination)||1 teaspoon curry powder|
|2 medium carrots||½ teaspoon mixed herbs|
|2 medium onions||1 cup breadcrumbs|
|2 medium potatoes||
½ cup tomato sauce
|2 medium zucchini||2 eggs|
|2 cloves garlic or 2 teaspoons minced garlic||Oil for cooking|
Peel and grate the carrots and potatoes
Grate the zucchini
Finely chop the onions
Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix them thoroughly – I use my hand (washed)
Make the mixture into 200g patties and cook on the BBQ or in a pan (flatten them to about 1cm in thickness) for 5/6 minutes each side.
Serve in a normal hamburger style roll with your sauce and salad of choice. Our resident vegetarian likes them with plain yogurt, sweet chili sauce and salad. Another serving suggestion is serve on a plate with gravy, mashed spuds and assorted vegetables.
Makes 8-10 patties.
Note; - for a great vegetarian burger just leave the meat out – I make the vegetable mix first and make a couple of vegi-burgers for my daughter then add the meat.
